The kids had a little break from school and we from work :). During this little holiday we visited Borger (Drenthe). Twan had fun while his cousins visited us for a sleap over. The boys made a nice tipi and after hard work you need a break.....they enjoyed the picknick in it :).

Amy Butler Workshop

Yesterday I did the Amy Butler workshop from The Creative Buzz. Both of the girls (Anita and Birgit) worked on two nice minibooks. The first workshop by Anita was about a minibook which is sollid enough to travel along with you. My book isn't finished yet but with all the yummie goodies and papers I'm able to complete it at home.

The second workshop by Birgit was about transparant sheets in a sort of "envelop bag". I filled it with pictures from our latest holiday in the snow.

Ofcourse we talked and laughed a lot during the workshops. We had a wonderful lunch and a sweet treat in the afternoon; high tea with scones :). Thank you to Anita and Birgit who arranged all this. And thank you for your wonderful ideas and sharing them with us.

Workshop Warm and Snuggly

Last Saturday I had a wonderful time at Birgit's house. The Creative Buzz hosted a workshop. We were surprised with a really nice kit with goodies to make a minibook. The gorgeous minibook was designed by Anita.

We had a wonderful lunch with soup and bread. And in the afternoon we were surprised with a real warm, sweet and snuggly hot chocolat with marshmallows!!!!

The paper we used in the minibook is Twan's favorite paper (these are his own words). He really is in with pink, K3 and glitter.......and turning 6 next week :). Fleur decided that she wanted this book to use for herself. But I thought it would be nice to make it a birthday book for all our bday's in 2009.

When you check out the buzz blog you will find out that Birgit and Anita have a new workshop in mind. Only three places are available so be sure and email them in time to be on one of these spots.

Another minibook

I started working on another minibook. The book isn't filled with pictures yet, but will be soon :). The inspiration for this book have I found here and here.
When I visited Marja's shop I bought some Prima products. The clear books and the clear tape are nice to work with.

Yesterday I was at a workshop at Birgit's. Anita and Birgit worked out two wonderful workshops to make TWO minibooks. The kits were awesome and had wonderful papers and even so yummie stuff to decorate the books.........

I had a lovely time and I think everyone who visited this workshop will agree with me!! We talked about food and recipes, we had a wonderful lunch and we worked hard :). We learned some new technics and used them in our books. I'll try to finish my minibooks as soon as possible and show them to you.

One finished LO and .......

This LO took me a while but here it is. The photo of Hans was taken by Anita. I think it's a really good picture of my hubbie with his "new" hair. He started a few months ago to let his curls come out again. Before that he had really short hair (read: millimetred!). I love the curls (and not only that :)).

With Fleur and Twan we brought a visit to Het Blote Voetenpad on Sunday. It was nice weather and they love to spend time outside. See for yourself on the pictures.

On Saturday I'm going to spend the day at a workshop from The Creative Buzz. If you want to see a sneak , have a look.

Last friday I took the car and drove over to Bedum (10km from our house). The scrapbookstore from Marja's Hobby moved to another building. The shop was closed for several weeks and I really needed some new paper. So friday was the first day the shop opened after moving to this new place. And wow! it turned out really cool. Wauw, we just found out that photos of our family are published in "Creatief met Foto's" (issue 32). Birgit made a wonderful clear album of our family about a photoshoot by Anita. Also a LO is published which is also made by Birgit. You must know that we feel very honoured :)!!!!!

Oohhhh, long time no blogging...sorry.

I haven't got anything to show but I only wanted to share two nice pictures of my daughter and son. You can find them on Anita's photoblog. You have to scroll back to the 2th and 6th of July.

We just returned from Sweden. It was our first visit to Scandinavia. We enjoyed it very much. Several weeks before our vacation we bought an old caravan. We stayed on 6 different campsites and ofcourse we took many pictures. You will see them in a while on LO's.

The photo on this LO was taken by Anita the other week. Anita took many photo's of our family. It was really nice working with her. She has so many different ideas!! They all turned out very very well.
Fleur also loves this pic, because she wears her favorit hair ribbon. (She wants to wear it almost every day but isn't allowed from her mom :) ).

Today was a very lovely day.

This morning I visited Birgit for a crop. I didn't finish my LO but we talked a lot, had much coffee and.......

The afternoon we spend time with Anita Mundt in a garden near our village. In Eenrum you can find De Kleine Plantage, it is a gardenshop with lots of different plants and nice gardenfurniture. Behind the shop there is a nice garden were we took family pictures. You can find two of them here.

It was really nice doing this. We enjoyed it all very much.

After the photoshoot I drove to Eelde to visit a museum of musicinstruments. I visited it with my colleagues from the office. The owners are very enthousiastic people and they can tell nice stories. It is also a nice place for kids (schoolexcursion). The kids can make their own instrument. That's fun I think.

Hi there, did you enjoy the sun? We did!!! We went to a camping in Aalten and had a lovely time.
We camped with our tent. This weekend we organised a familyweekend with all the relatives from hubbie Hans. With 34 people in age from 0 till 70 we had a wonderful time. Thank you all so much!!!!!

When we (Hans or I) ask Fleur and Twan what they want to become in the future, they say different things all the time. When we come home from a visit to my SIL in Gouda, Fleur definitely wants to become a physiotherapist. That's my SIL her profession. But when Fleur just had her hair cut she wants to become a hairdresser.

Twan is in school working about the post-office. When you ask him at this moment what he wants to be when he grows u he will answer: a post-office servant. But when the boyfriend of my sister worked at our house to make a door (or two) he wants to become a "workman".

The journaling on an LO for Fleur would be something like this:
"Als ik later groot ben wil ik graag kapster, fysiotherapeut of juf worden."
(When I grow up I want to be a hairdresser, physiotherapist or a teacher.)

And for Twan it would be like this:
"Als ik later groot ben wil ik graag werkman worden, net als papa of postbode."
(When I grow up I want to a workman, just like dad or a post-office servant.)

It's nice to write these things down, these precious words need to be remembered.

Journaling challenge part 1 and 2.

Yep, Birgit and Anita set up a new challenge. This time the challenge is about journaling.
The thing I love and like about scrapbooking is to capture a moment, an event, a funny pronouncing (from my kids) and all the other things which are worth to be looked after.
A little while ago when I was at a crop at Birgit she advised me to make an "inspiration" folder on my computer. And I did and it's already filled with lots of beautiful LO's and with poems etc. etc. I think you recognize the feeling when you come home from work or from a meeting that you have to clean your head. I "clean my head" by talking or to write it down. But when I visit all the nice and talented scrapblogs I clean my head by putting a selection of all the nice things in my inspiration folder. And I hope to use (parts of) them for my own LO's in the future.
One of my favourites quotes is "LIVE LOVE LAUGH". I'm trying to find the right pictures for it. But I'm definitely going to use that one! And another is "Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things." I really don't know which person said these words but I think it is true.
I can't remember I did something huge what changes my way of being me. But what I do know is that what happenes to you makes you YOU.
That was part 2 of the challenge. And that brings me at part 1 of the challenge.
When I first read about the challenge I had to think right away about Twan and what he said to me on last Friday.
Fleur wanted to sleep at her niece Iris. So Twan decided that our other niece (Niek) could come over to sleep at our place. I said: 'OK! I'm going to make Niek a nice bed.' Twan completed me and said: 'Mom, you can use the "tramas".' What he meant was that I could use the "matras" (mattress). He turns more things upside down or inside out or backwards. He puts his shirt most of the time backwards on. Or he writes his name backwards (that is allowed when you are in "groep 1" :)).
That was my entry for part 1 of the challenge. I'm wundering from who he inherit this funny speciality ;).

This challenge keeps me busy all day. Not totally true ofcourse. But Fleur and Twan reminded me this morning that I had to take a shot with 5. In the afternoon I decided to take a picture of Twan (he is our 5 year old son) and I did.

But when I was loading the pics into the computer I found out that hubbie Hans already made pictures with 5!!!!

So I choosed a picture he made.

This is my subscription to the 7in7 challenge of The Creative Buzz.

One wall in our bedroom used to be covered with red wallpaper. When Hans had a day off from work he decided to remove the red wallpaper and buy a new one. That sounds easy but it wasn't. In the local store there are many kinds of wallpaper for sale. But we did manage. As you can see we decided it had to be something different.
I'm lucky to have such a handy husband. And we are very pleased with our new wall in our bedroom.

Our Easterweekend is over. Tomorrow the normal things need to be picked up....:(.

We had a lovely and quiet weekend. (Hubbie Hans needed to work in the hospital at night, so we must be quiet during the day :).)Saturday evening Twan and Fleur painted eggs and a bunny family.

I just finished two LO's. And I made pictures by very bad light.....but you know I'm working on my knowledge about our camera. Look at the tulips!!!!

And guess what...I was very surprised by receiving an award. Here it is:

Birgit gave me this award and I'm very happy with it. I need to forward it to 4 different bloggers who make my day. That's easy.......cause there are many bloggers who make my day...but they all received the award already.

Easter, Valcum and a finished LO

Twan decided this morning that our house wasn't in Eastern style!!! He changed a few things in our living room and this is what he came up with.

We are not allowed to touch this and when we do he puts it back in the same position as before!!

Last weekend my parents surprised us with this little bowl of clay. It is made by a local potter. The special thing about it is that the farm "Valcum" was in our family for many years. The local potter was able to get some clay out of the soil. Where there used to be cows on the land there is now a large dredgings depository.

Last week I finished this LO of Twan and I am working on another one. I made this one in Aline- style.

Winterholiday

We're home again. Wow, what a wonderful, nice, sunny and lovely vacation we had!!! The ride to Switzerland went very well. On saturday the 23th of february we arrived at Thyon 2000. And we stayed there for a week. My parents in law and my SIL and BIL and their children did go with us. Fleur and Twan had a great time with their three nieces. From monday till friday they had skilessons. Fleur made it to the black slope and Twan and Tessa made it to the blue one. They loved skiing and had a lot of fun. We arrived safely back home last weekend. You can find some impressions of our holiday below.

I finished this LO this morning. It's about Twan who uses the word "not" not in the right way in a sentence. He says the word when he means not to. For instance he says: I know not which one I'm gonna ask for my birthday. What he means is: I know exactly which one I'm gonna ask for my birthday.
I used ironbeads on the lay-out. Twan wears a necklace of irondbeads since June 2006 and he never got it of. Wonder how long that's gonna take?!!!

My dad is doing fine. He went to see the oculist (oogarts) again this morning. His eye isn't that thick anymore. He has ointment (zalf) and that works!!!!

I'm really been busy lately with other things, not with scrapbooking. It are nice things to be working on. So, don't worry about me.
I'm now going for a visit to my parents. My father has shingles (gordelroos) on his forehead. Cross your fingers for him....cause when it goes down and ends up in his eye he can become blind. He already has medication and it must get better with it.

Today the scrappingmood was around!!! And I made this winter LO at Birgit's this morning. (I'm trying to take a better picture later this week.)

This evening my mother was at our place with lots of old pictures of her family. I think it is a niece of her who is working on a familybook of our family. I scanned lots of pictures and ofcourse I saved the pictures on our computer!!!!. Maybe in a while I can surprise my mother with scrapped pictures of her family.

Outside the house you can see and feel the winter. So I made some pics outside.

Inside the house Twan and Fleur decorated our christmastree. Hans made christmasdecorations and I made a "puzzle" for the first Xmasday. We invited my parents-in-law with my sisters-in-law and their husbands and children. On the second day of Xmas we are going to visit my family in Germany.

This weekend our house was filled with the smell of applepie. Hans is our expert in baking pies!!! How lovely isn't it? Not only the smell was nice, but having a piece of it was even nicer *LOL*.

Girls weekend!!!!!

Friday:
While Hans and Twan are away for a weekend helping my brothers in Germany. Fleur and I are gonna celebrate our Girls Weekend!!! We wanted to watch some tv at 17.00u but at 17.15u it was dark in our house and in the whole neighbourhood. When we lighted some candles Fleur wanted to make a painting by candlelight!!!!
Cause I cook on induction I wasn't able to make us a meal. We decided to go to my parents home where there was electricity. We ate our meal and at 19.30u we could go home.
Saturday:
Today we went to Groningen and we visited the new "Martini Ziekenhuis". There was an "open day" and you could have a look in the new colourful hospital. It was nice to see were hubby Hans is working and we had a nice impression of the whole hospital.

I finished this LO (you already saw a sneak peek) last wednesday at Birgit.
Normally they don't sleep in one bed!!!!! At this evening Twan couldn't sleep, so Fleur decided to read him a story. And this is how it ended up..... They both like their Paddington to sleep with them. The Paddington-bears must stay in bed when Fleur and Twan go downstairs. We never have to look after the bears....they are always sleeping!!!!

The story of the little card, the office of Sinterklaas.

This is the story of the little card. I posted this card to a friend (and colleague) of mine. She started working at "the firm" 28 years ago. She is our little sunshine at the office. She really earned this card. I wrote a few personal words at the inside.

This afternoon Twan and I decided to go to the office of Sinterklaas (it's a Dutch version of Santa Claus). Twan drew a painting and gave it to Sinterklaas.

Twan wasn't anxious at all and he had a little conversation with Sinterklaas. In the same room were Sinterklaas received many children there was also his bed. It had nice red textiles and everywhere there were packages.

When we arrived at home Twan choosed to sleep on the couch to wait for his sister. Fleur was on her way home from Gouda. She visited our cousin Leanne with Iris (also a cousin) and grandma and granddad. Leanne turned two today. They had a lovely day at our family.
Twan did go to bed after a big hug and kisses from his sister.

This evening when I visited Mariska her blog, I saw a nice LO of her using the sketch of Pencil Lines (challenge #58). A friend at work brought me some nice buttons (thnx Ineke). They needed to be scrapped. This is what I did with them.

Workshop Winter Wonderland at Birgit's

This is what I made at Birgit's this evening. We used embossingpowder, alcohol-ink, acrylpaint etc. It was a nice evening with 8 women, pepernoten, m&m's, coffee, tee and ofcourse....... lots of lovely scrapstuff.

Can you imagine how much I want a real winter this year?!?!

I am working on my next LO. It isn't finished..... so I can only show you this:

I started working on this LO at Birgit's. At wednesday morning I go to her place for a crop. She has so much stamps, papers, dabbers, flowers, magazines etc. which you can use for your LO. And ofcourse she is a very talented scrapbooker with lots of inspiration (also for the croppers!!).

Next wednesday Birgit does a workshop Winter Wonderland. I hope I can show you more about this at the end of this week.

This afternoon we decided to visit Noordpolderzijl. It is a very small piece of the North of Groningen. But it is really nice there. Lots of people like to visit this place. You can have a drink in 't Zielhoes to warm yourselves up. When we got back by our car Fleur and Twan had nice little red cheeks. In the car Twan took a little nap.

Tomorrow it is my dad's birthday. I made him a birthdaycard.
Normally you make the card open at the right. But wat happened......When I was developping the card I decided to make a strip which would hold photo's. (You can see the photo's below made by Anita Mundt.) But when I finished the strip and put the photo's in it.....the strip was right before the eyes of Twan and Fleur. I decided to turn the card around. Don't worry about it, becaus my dad is lefthanded he'll manage to get the pictures out of the card!!!

A while ago Fleur and Twan were in a real photoshoot. The pictures are made by Anita Mundt. She is a real artist, I love her work. She took some really great pictures of Fleur and Twan.

Fleur was a bit ill at the time. Twan didn't know how to act. But.....we (hubbie Hans and I) are really proud of them.

This is a picture of Twan (4 years) making a jump on his packet of juice. Once he filled it with air (after drinking the apple juice!!) he jumps very hard and.....BANG the packet is damaged.

Fleur (7 years) had her ears pierced. And this is how she looked when she was having the piercing done. She didn't have any pain. It tickeld she said. So far she is very proud of her new pimped ears!!!
